Micqui Miller can’t remember a time she didn’t write. At 12, she authored her first novel, and by 15 had earned a byline as a sports writer for a local Detroit teen newspaper. Since that time, she has published more than 100 articles and short stories, and three novels.

Although she claims she’s more of a mystery writer than romance author, her single title romance, The Killing Hour, won the prestigious Golden Heart from Romance Writers of America.

Sweet Caroline (romantic suspense) is set in Sebastopol, CA. Published in 2005, Sweet Caroline is the forerunner to the Caroline Spring Mystery Series. The first book in this cozy series is titled “A” Is For Avatar.

Morning Star, which earned Micqui a second Golden Heart nomination, was released by Cerridwen Press in paperback in April 2008. In this gripping tale of suspense and intrigue, Liz O’Hara must face her secret past while racing against the clock to save a dying young woman and stop the madman sworn to kill them.

The screen rights to Morning Star were recently acquired by Hollywood producer/ screenwriter Daniel Guardino. “I was amazed at how true Daniel’s screenplay stayed to the novel,” Micqui said. “It’s such fun speculating about who might one day play Liz and Josh. While writing Morning Star, I posted a picture of Michelle Pfeiffer next to my computer, alongside George Clooney, the perfect Josh.

Morning Star is an intense, serious book that will always be the book of my heart,” Micqui said. “But I had such fun writing Sweet Caroline, I couldn’t let Mick and Caroline go. The cozy series opens five years later. Mick and Caroline are as passionate as ever, but they’ve taken their relationship to new heights —The Thin Man meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”

Negotiations are also underway for the screen adaptation of Sweet Caroline.

Micqui, her husband Bill, and their two-old Tom-kitties, Peja and Vlade, now live in Central Texas.
